Hi Everybody,
What a great year in terms of bookings! I've had so many students reporting back about their successes! I really enjoy hearing from all of you! I'm a professional actress who works consistently in this industry and I love teaching others how to do the same!
If I look familiar to you, you've probably seen me on the Sunsetter Awning commercial that's been playing nationally for over 4 years. We just shot a new version this week that started airing in April. You may have also come across the film, The Touch, in which I had a lead role. I hear it's been on TV lately. It also showed at the movie theatre at Universal's Citywalk as part of the Global Peace Festival. So far the film has won Best Feature at the 2005 Independents' Film Festival (IFF), a Crystal Reel Award, and was shown at the International Family Film Festival in California. I also received a Crystal Reel award for my performance. To find out more about the film and the all Florida cast, visit the newly updated site www.thetouchmovie.net.
Here's an update on what my kids and I have been up to lately: My daughter, Christy, age 7, has been auditioning with me quite a bit recently. We worked together for the first time on a commercial for Baldwin Park, then I worked a couple of days on an industrial for the Awana Clubs and Christy booked her first speaking part in a commercial for Elmer's Go Paint which played nationally. And we were cast together as mother and daughter for a DISH Network commercial that's still playing. Then Christy shot a SAG National spot for Canadian Tire Co. that played nationally in Canada. Together, we shot a Disney Holiday Parade commercial at 2am on Main Street and a St. Luke's/St. Vincent's Hospital commercial in Jacksonville. So far this new year, Christy booked commercials for 7 Falls Resort in N. Carolina and Papa Johns and I booked a spot for Bass Pro Shops. My son, James, shot a commercial for Hard Rock Theme Park and did a print shoot for Publix. He performed at the Florida Theatre Conference in Lakeland recently representing West Orange High School. Last year he won best supporting actor at that competition. He also had the opportunity to audition for Lisa Fincannon at a call-back for Disney Channel's new season and was requested to send a taped audition to the LA casting directors of a new Disney pilot. James was just in Beauty and the Beast at West Orange High School as LaFou and my daughter, Kendra, was assistant stage managing. Christy shot a commercial for Shand's Hospital in Gainsville last week. We do stay busy!!!
